GAS WATER HEATER CHECKLIST

• Check T-stat
• Check gas valve:
a) combustion
b) even pressure
c) pilot safety
• Pull out and clean pilot assembly with wire brush
a) check pilot size and orifice
• Pull out and clean burner assembly with wire brush
• Test flue draw
• Test pressure relief valve on side of hot water heater
• Check for water leaks and the general condition of the tank hull (bottom)
• Test limit safeties (if it gets too hot it shuts itself off)
• Test wiring and connections
• Check for Gas Leaks
